New commanding officer takes over at IMF


BANGOR — Capt. James Jones relieved Capt. Charles Baker as commanding officer of Naval Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pacific Northwest, during a change-of-command ceremony Friday. Capt. Stephen Williamson, commander of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and IMF, was the guest speaker.

Jones comes from Norfolk, Va., where he served as deputy commander of Norfolk Naval Shipyard and commanding officer of the enlisted element there. He entered the Navy in 1978 and was commissioned in 1987 under the Limited Duty Officer Program. He has 12 years of submarine repair experience and served more than 20 years on aircraft carriers.
