February 11 Luncheon Speaker Capt James Jones CO Naval Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pacific Northwest

The February Luncheon Speaker will be Captain James Jones Commanding Officer Naval Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pacific Northwest. Location is the Bangor Conference Center, Trident Ballroom, NBK, Bangor. Our social hour will begin at 11 am; opening will be at 11:45 followed by lunch.

Naval Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pacific Northwest, first known as TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRF), Bangor, was established on July 31,1981 as the primary maintenance facility for the West Coast TRIDENT submarine fleet. In 1998 TRF consolidated with Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA), at Everett and Bremerton, and became Naval Intermediate Maintenance Facility (NAVIMFAC) Pacific Northwest. Today, the Bangor site operates refit piers, repair shops and a drydock located in the homeports of submarines, ships, and aircraft carriers in the Pacific Northwest. Bangor has expertise in hull, mechanical, electrical, electronics, and weapons systems repair; continually responding to meet the fleet’s maintenance and repair needs with on-time, cost-effective and quality service.

Captain James H. Jones enlisted in Navy in 1978 and completed Naval Nuclear Power Training in 1980. While enlisted he completed two sea tours aboard USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70). He was commissioned in 1987. Captain Jones’ service as a commissioned officer included sea tours aboard USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73), and two tours aboard USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69), the second tour as Chief Engineer. His most recent assignment was Deputy Commander, Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Commanding Officer of the Enlisted Element at NNSY.
