NAVFAC Northwest Sailor of the Year Honored at Navy League Luncheon

The 2013 Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Northwest Sailor of the Year was recognized by the Navy League of the United States Bremerton-Olympic Peninsula Council during a luncheon Bangor Plaza on Naval Base Kitsap. Builder First Class Joshua J Cooper  was commended for meritorious service while serving as leading petty officer and operations, Public Works Department Naval Base Kitsap Self-help Division from October 2012 to September 2013.  Petty Officer Cooper led 12 Seabees in the completion of 32 construction projects, saving the Navy $605k in contractor costs.  He orchestrated the relocation of 18,500 sqft of office furniture after an unexpected watermain break in the NAVFAC Northwest HQ building saving the Navy $25k.  His leadership and steadfast devotion to mission led to his selection as the 2013 Navfac Atlantic Shore Sailor of the Year.
