Ride the Seafair Parade of Ships

120801-N-GT710-239

The Navy League Councils have been offered the opportunity to ride the U.S. Navy amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2), guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62), and guided-missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83) during the Seattle Seafair as part of the festival’s Fleet Week Parade of Ships.

Indications are we will be riding the USS Essex (LHD 2)

“This Seafair, be our special guest and ride aboard a United States Navy or a United States Coast Guard vessel on Wednesday, July 30. Walk through passageways, climb ladders, tour the different decks and get a real taste of life at sea. Experience the thrill of riding a military vessel as it cruises the Puget Sound. All cruises depart and return to the Port of Seattle and include lunch aboard the ship. Cruises depart from the Port of Seattle and may last from six to eight hours, including boarding and disembarking. “

The Third Fleet Challenge to the Navy League is ”  that each NL person that rides the ship, brings with him / her a guest that needs to be educated on how great our Navy is and how much we need a strong sea power.”

It was presented that as Navy Leaguers, we all love the Sea Services…  they would like our help to bring someone who is a “community influencer” and needs to learn to love the Sea Services…  C3F “knows that as Navy Leaguers, we all know Community Influencers”.
