Today is veterans Day and Washington’s 126th birthday (Nov 11 1889)
Join us at the Kitsap Sun Pavilion on the Kitsap County Fairgrounds as we pause to remember and honor our veterans. Doors open at 9:00am so that you can view the many displays and visit the 24 booths. Vintage military uniforms and vehicles will be on display. Arrive early so that you can find a place to sit, as over 1800 people are expected to attend.
The actual program begins at 10:30 am with pomp and circumstance of a very formal Parade of Colors. Rear Admiral David Kriete, Commander Submarine Group Nine and Guy Stitt, Bremerton Navy League Ambassador will serve as the co-MCs. County Commissioner Robert Gelder will introduce all of the Military and Political dignitaries. The Bremerton High School Marching Band will provide the music. This year, the keynote speaker is Rev. Willie Tart (USAF-Ret), Author of “Unwavering Strength”.
Come out and meet the crew of the crew of the USS Washington SSN-787. Five members of the commissioning crew are making a Namesake visit to the state this week.
