Bremerton Navy League Tour Planning

Vigor Shipyard Tour

ACTUVJan 25 – Vigor Industrial Portland Tour. Vigor Industrial Portland (Formerly Oregon Ironworks) is on the cutting edge of small combatant design.  Vigor and Leidos are teamed on the DARPA Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Continuous Trail Unmanned Vessel (ACTUV ), an unmanned surface vessel  USV optimized to robustly track quiet diesel electric submarines. The Concept vessel is 140 tons and 132 feet in length and should be capable of remaining at sea for weeks at a time. The construction phase of the program is essentially complete and testing will begin early next year.

Feb 3 – Washington State Ferry Tour Kingston @ 10:25 AM  We will walk onboard the ferry at Kinston. On the trip over we will go to the Pilot House, where we’ll see how the Ferry is navigated, and hear about the very interesting things they deal with on the boat (and did you know that some of the crew comes from a few states away & lives on board for a week or so at a time?  They have a berthing area, day room & mini-kitchen).  On the return trip from Edmonds we’ll tour the engine room.

March 12 (Sat) – Kitsap 911 Center @ 10 AM

April 7 – Trident Training Facility Bangor & Trident Submarine Tour

Must be a US citizen to attend this tour
TTF0935 – Bus will arrive at the Keyport Undersea Museum parking lot to meet and greet guests, hand out security badges and depart for the Trident Training Facility (TTF).

1000 – Arrive at TTF. Commence walking tour.

1130 – TTF tour complete.  Bus departs for the Inside Out Café or walk to Galley for lunch.

1135 – Arrive Inside Out Café or Galley.   Probable briefing at that time about Bangor’s role.

1230 – Board bus and depart for Delta Pier.

1300 – Arrive Delta Pier for submarine tour.

1430 – Submarine tour complete.  Depart for Keyport.

1500 – Arrive Keyport and drop off guests

Turner Joy 052515May 23 – USS Turner Joy Tour @ 10 AM Vietnam era destroyer at the Bremerton waterfront  $10 fee



USCG Sector SeattleJune 17 – Seattle USCG Sector Puget Sound Tour @ 10 AM, a cutter if one is available at that date, and lunch at the dining facility)



MFPU Tour HelenJuly 15 – USCG Maritime Force Protection Unit Bangor Tour 9 AM.  We’ll have a briefing at headquarters, then be bussed down to the boats for tours & a ride, followed by a no host lunch at the galley.
