The Bremerton Navy League honors Naval Base Kitsap Sailors of the Year

SILVERDALE Wash. (Dec. 8, 2015)– — The Bremerton Navy League holds monthly luncheons, and regularly honors Sailors throughout the area who have gone above and beyond in the performance of their duties. 

Naval Base Kitsap’s (NBK) Bluejacket of the Year Master-at-Arms Seaman Shelby C. Woodson, a native of Garfield Heights, Ohio, joined the Navy in 2013. She has served with Marine Corps Security Force Battalion at the Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific on NBK-Bangor, and is currently working as a patrolman at the NBK Security Department.

NBK’s Junior Sailor of the Year Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Equipment) 3rd Class Adeyinka Adegoke, also a native of Houston, joined the Navy in 2012 and has served aboard the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). She is currently serving in NBK’s Funeral Honors Division, participating in military funerals and other ceremonies meant to honor those who have served.

Master-at-Arms 1st Class Jason Stafford, a native of Houston, Texas, who joined the Navy in 1997, was recognized as NBK’s Sailor of the Year. Throughout his 18 year career, he has served in many overseas locations including Bahrain, Afghanistan, and Italy. He is currently the Leading Petty Officer of NBK’s Security Department.
