Did you sign up for the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair?  Did you want to do that?  Soon?!  You will have a great time, meet many impressive young students, get to hob-nob with fellow Navy League members, and go home feeling better about what you just did!

First: Block March 31-April 1st off on your calendar and make a commitment to this year’s Fair.

Second:  Get your application for judge filled out on line (link provided) and get listed so we can get your training arranged if you are a first-timer.

Then (and this is important for you):  If you want a Navy League polo shirt,  short sleeve, long sleeve, whichever, you need to send your desired choice and size to me NO LATER THAN MARCH 10TH.  Your Navy League will pay for your shirt, but if you do not show up for the Fair, you will be billed for the shirt.

Sign up link below/Judges info above.  Numerous training opportunities and….a refresher on Friday morning March 31st that I always use.

Details: The Navy League Provides $1200 in Scholarships (Grades 1-3 $100×2, Grades 4-6 $150×2, Grades 7-8 $200×2, Grades 9-12 $300). Our scholarships were targeted towards projects that support Naval Applications.  Our judges are involved with both General judging and Navy League judging. There are two judging sessions each day. If we hava sufficient number of  judges we divide up our judges (half for the General Judging and half for the Navy League judging/ then switch for the second session of the day) such that each judge gets an opportunity to do both.

Schedule: Friday (Grades 1-6) is basically from about 2pm to 8 pm.  So one could work on Friday morning if employed.  Saturday (grades 7-12) is a longer day (8AM-4:30PM). The first hour is set aside for Judge Training. You only need to attend one training session. It really does not get going until 0900. Meals are provided for the Judges. We are happy to have judges work both days, but can accommodate Judges working for one day.
